Basically, I figured I would try to do different things. Instead of just playing games and logging off for the day, I'd make a blog so I can talk about different things and have them recorded for all of eternity.
Because that's what the internet's for.
I figured I'd start things off on a high note: I'm getting real tired of Path of Exile. Like really tired.
I'll admit this is a burn out of my own making. I was pretty dumb to decide to join in on the Glacier farming during Legion league. I wanted to see how profitable it would be and if I would be able to get a Headhunter for once. Long story short, I didn't. I ran about 244 maps in two days and decided that was enough PoE for the rest of the league.
So on the first day, I made quite a large haul.
Yeah, I made a spreadsheet. I tallied up all the currency drops I received over the course of a hundred maps on the first day on the box to the right to determine what my total drops were(misleadingly labeled as gross profit), what the gross profit were(misleadingly labeled as net profit), and then a tally for currency gain if I didn't include items such as Exalted Orbs, Time-Lost Incubators, Harbinger Orbs, Annulment Orbs, and similar high cost items that rarely drop. Further down on the results table, I set up a simple if/then statement to determine if I sustained the resources that I put into it, mainly to see if I recouped the maps and alchemy orbs I spent on running the 100 maps.
Effectively, I made around 7 Exalts worth of currency in the two or so hours I spent running the maps. I felt like burning my computer after those two hours. It was mind numbing but the currency gain was too good to give up.
So like the idiot I am, I went for a second day. This is literally a weekend wasted on Glacier farming. I ended up with high blood pressure not long after.
Day 2! I ran even more maps! I used the same table with the misleading labels and I ended up making even more on this day! With 44 extra maps I made 400c more. At this point, I had made 16 Exalts worth of currency drops and with untold amounts of divination cards, fossils, uniques, and other items sitting in a drop tab. It's been a month since I last ran these maps and they're still sitting in a quad tab in Standard, waiting for me to go through the tabs and sort everything out.
Nah.
I went back for Blight League and I'm already tired of it. Compared to how fast paced and how generous Legion was for shitheads like me, the slow pace of Blight along with how stingy the rewards are put me off this league. I've got a level 84 and a level 73 that are fairly geared out. I have not yet seen a single Exalted Orb, Harbinger Orb, Ancient Orb, or Annulment Orb drop. I had a single Divine Orb drop and I exchanged it for Chaos Orbs so I could buy gear that I needed for my character. Progression just feels so much slower this time around. I'll try reaching 90 and I'll see if I can find the last trial so I can complete the Eternal Lab but I think I'll go play something else. Like maybe continuing my Minecraft server.
Or I might actually spend my time exercising instead of sitting at my desk when I get home from work where I sit at a desk all day.
